USING THE CHAIR

Q: Is the chair easy to open and fold?

A: Yes. We designed the chair to have a no-hassle and intuitive opening and folding process.  

On our vimeo page, you can find videos showing how to use the chair.

To open, start by unclipping and folding out the legs.  Then, place the chair on the ground to ensure the legs are fully open.  Once the chair is in a sturdy position, pull the back of the chair all the way to the lie flat position.  Gradually pull the chair up until it clicks into your desired reclining position.  Then, push out the table wings and have a seat.

To fold, pull the back of the chair all the way onto the seat of the chair.  Then, push the wings back through the armrests.  Once the seat and back are folded, fold the front leg first. There is a optional buttoned pouch for this leg to reduce the pressure on your lower back when carried.  Once the front leg is in place, fold the back leg, click the strap above the backpack all the way around the bottom leg and put the chair on your back.

Q: Is the chair comfortable? Does the chair recline? 

A: Yes. The chair has 5 reclining positions, including lie flat. To recline, first start with the chair in closed position (back folded onto the bottom). Then, recline the chair all the way to the lie flat position. Finally, gradually pull the chair up until it clicks into your desired position. To reset the position higher, simply pull the chair up until it clicks into the higher position.  To reset the position further back, reset back to the closed position, fold all the way to lie flat position, and gradually pull the chair up until it clicks into your desired position.

Do not push the chair back while seated in the chair. Never touch the reclining mechanism and please keep children away from the reclining mechanism.

Q: Can I ride my bike with the chair on my back?

A: Yes, the chair is safe to wear while riding your bike and we designed it with bike riding in mind (this is our favorite way to travel to the beach).  Our compact design offers better peripheral sightlines than other backpack chairs on the market.

Q: Can I use the chair in places other than the beach? Camping? Fields? Parks? Concerts? Sporting events?

A: Absolutely – the chair can sit on any surface and sits about one foot off the ground, which is higher than many other beach chairs. The chair is designed to go anywhere you want to take it. 

We recommend you avoid using on uneven ground to avoid tipping while seated.

CARING FOR THE CHAIR

Q: Is the chair waterproof?

A: Yes. We recommend drying the chair with a towel before putting it away. 

Q: How do you clean the chair?

A: We recommend handwashing with a damp cloth.

Q: Can you leave the chair outside?

A: The chair is designed to withstand the elements. With that said, when not in use, we recommend leaving the chair indoors to avoid unnecessary wear and tear and rusting. Also, be wary of sitting on cement and other surfaces that could chip the powder coating.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Q: When will my beach chair ship?

A: The chairs ship within one business day of the order placement. Orders are fulfilled and shipped during business hours, Monday through Friday, with the exception of US holidays.

Q: What is Lido’s shipping policy?

A: Lido offers free domestic UPS ground shipping as well as certain local delivery options in the New York City metropolitan area. At checkout you may find additional options, including expedited shipping. We offer expedited shipping for an additional fee.

Q: How do I check the status of my order?

A: You can track the status of your order by logging into your account at www.lido.co or using the tracking number that will be provided in an email once your product ships. 

Please review the confirmation email.  Please contact us ASAP at hello@lido.co if you notice an error with your shipping address. We cannot guarantee edits received over 24 hours after an order has been placed and they may incur a change of address fee.

Q: What is Lido’s return policy?

A: We are pretty confident you’re going to love your Lido products.  If you don’t, you may return your item unused, in the same condition that you received it, and in its original packaging within 14 days of receipt. 

Please note that we only exchange items if they are materially defective or damaged and have been used for the purpose for which they are intended. You may exchange your item unused, in the same condition that you received it, and in its original packaging within 14 days of receipt.

To do return or exchange, send us an email at hello@lido.co. Lido will only cover the shipping fees for the return of materially defective, damaged, or incorrect items and reserves the right to replace defective or damaged items in its sole discretion. For all other returns, you will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your items.

Q: What makes the Lido beach chair different from other beach chairs?

A: Our patented chair and bag design makes going to the beach hassle free - it's light and compact to carry, easy to open and fold, and has every feature under the sun.  It’s truly the only thing you need to carry to the beach. Visit the product page to review all features.

Q: Do you have any patents?

A: Yes. We have two patents for our chair design. We have spent the last 5 years perfecting the chair design.

Q: Where was the chair designed?

A: New York City.

Q: Are you available for partnerships? Do you have retailers? Are wholesale discounts available? Would you consider license agreements?

Q: Are Lido products sustainable? Packaging?

A: Sustainability is at the core of our mission. The chair is recyclable as is all of our packaging.  We do not use any single-use plastic. Please visit our sustainability page for more details.

Q: Where is the chair made? 

A: The chair is made in China.  Lido’s manufacturing partners have all been vetted.  All products made in China meet the relevant US compliance and testing standards, including the more restrictive California standards.

SPECIFICATIONS

Q: Does the chair weigh a lot? Is the chair light or heavy? How do I carry the chair?

A: The chair is designed to be light and is similar in weight to most other aluminum beach chairs on the market (10.6 lbs). Our heavy duty, padded backpack straps and optional padded bar wraps are designed to help you easily get to the beach with everything you need. 

Q: What is the height of the chair? Is it easy to sit down and stand up?

A: Yes. Our chair sits about one foot off the ground.  Our armrest construction allows you to stand with sturdy leverage.

Q: What is the width of the chair?

A: The seated area is comparable to most beach chairs, but because of our streamlined design, the full width when folded is only 22 inches. This element of the design makes the chair super easy to walk or ride a bike with. It’s so narrow when folded on your back, you can even walk through a NYC subway turnstile with it.

Q: Are the bars padded?

A: Yes. All of the bars are padded, including the headrest, armrest and the bar that sits at the back of your knees.

Q: What is the weight limit for the chair? How much can I put in the bag?

A: The suggested maximum weight load is 240 pounds. You can put whatever you are comfortable carrying the bag, although you should use care not to overfill the bag with very heavy items that may cause strain on the chair’s construction and/or improper weight distribution when the chair is in use. 

Q: What is the chair made out of?

A: The chair structure is made out of lightweight aluminum. The chair fabric is polyester. The bag fabric is a polyester and PU blend.
